Wood Flooring is available in almost as many species as there are species of trees (Bamboo, Maple, Oak, Birch, Pine, exotics, to name a few). There is a multitude of colors, sizes, and thicknesses. Laminated wood is an all wood product that has layers (plys), each one turned opposite of the one below. This gives the wood stability for expansion and contraction purposes. This product has applications that are either glued directly to your sub-floor or a floating system. Laminate wood is a very different product. It has a wooden base with a high pressure plastic laminate applied to the top. Typically this is installed as a floating system.
